Got a wicked problem? First tell me how to make a toast
This is about a collaborative design exercise that helps people understand and solve complex problems. The speaker, Tom Wujec, introduces the exercise through the seemingly trivial task of making toast. The exercise consists of three parts. In the first part, participants are asked to draw how to make toast on a piece of paper, without using any words. In the second part of the exercise, participants use sticky notes to create a more detailed model of how to make toast. This allows for easier iteration and refinement of the model. The speaker argues that this rapid iteration is key to achieving clarity and improving the model.
