About Roots
Roots is a Capacity Building Platform for Social Impact Organizations in South and South East Asia. Roots focuses on augmenting the resilience of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community Organizations (COs) and Social Enterprises (SEs) through a suite of capacity building solutions for senior leaders, mid-level managers, young leaders, field staff and volunteers within these organizations. Roots also supports Change Makers in Communities through resilience building capacity solutions.
CAPACITY BUILDING: THE CATALYST FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Social impact organizations are dedicated to addressing pressing social and environmental issues. Their purpose is to create positive change in communities and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable world.
However, they often face challenges such as limited resources, lack of expertise, and difficulty in scaling their impact.
Capacity building can play a crucial role in overcoming these challenges. By enhancing their skills, knowledge, and networks, social impact organizations can become more effective in achieving their goals. Capacity building initiatives can help them improve their governance, financial management, fundraising, and program delivery. Ultimately, by strengthening their capacities, these organizations can maximize their impact and contribute to a more just and sustainable future.
THE ROOTS PLATFORM
Roots leverages a host of online and blended learning methodologies, including short-duration workshops, peer learning-sharing discussions, panel discussions and expert talks, to help learners build key skills in ecosystem management, institution strengthening, leadership building and personal growth and development.
Roots has three main channels to build capacity:
ONLINE LEARNING EVENT CALENDAR
Every month, there is an exciting array of online, live learning events to choose from spanning a host of topics such as leadership, engagement, fundraising, M&E, leveraging technology and AI that are offered as workshops, panel discussions, case study discussions, peer learning-sharing sessions and much more.
ROLE-BASED LEARNING JOURNEYS
These are specially designed programs for cohorts (e.g. High potential young leaders; HR leaders; FPO CEOs; etc.) They are designed along with partner organizations and the interested donor(s) to ensure a high impact experience that combines assessments, coaching, online / blended learning events and capstone projects.
PHICUS RESOURCE HUB
The Resource Hub supports self-paced learning and is replete with carefully curated, easily searchable article, videos, podcasts and toolkits.
