Session Objectives
- Using a case study methodology, identify and share best practices / success stories / failure stories related to nurturing a positive and effective organizational culture
- Explore common challenges and obstacles organizations face in developing and sustaining a strong culture and discuss potential solutions and strategies for overcoming them
- Highlight the role of leadership in shaping and reinforcing the organization’s culture
- Using examples, help participants understand how culture impacts community engagement, organizational performance, employee motivation
- Help participants understand various ways in which organizational culture can be reinforced and shared across the organization
- Share how the organization’s systems and processes need to be aligned with its culture
Session Outcomes
- Take away knowledge, insights, and actionable strategies to foster a positive and effective culture within their organizations
- Learn about best practices and success stories pertaining to organizational culture from their peers in the session
Target Audience: Mid to Senior Management of Civil Society Organizations / NGOs; predominantly from India with a representation from other parts of South Asia as well.

Facilitator Name: Shilpa Diwakar
Shilpa Diwakar has a total of 28 years of experience across the Corporate and Development Sector. Some of her areas of work include providing strategic and operations support to organizations looking to scale and grow, with a special interest in creating the strategic blueprints in the context of scale, redesign of organization structures, and HR, program systems and processes readiness for scale, diagnostics / audits of organizations and leadership capability assessment and development.
In her role as Director and CEO at Phicus Social Solutions, she holds the responsibility of steering her organization's mission of building resilient institutions and leaders to deepen impact. More recently, she has been investing time in learning about networks and large cohort capacity building initiatives.
